RELOJ PÚBLICO

Installed in 1903, the clock was manufactured by the J.F. Weule company in Germany and transported to Alausí by railway. Initially located in one of the towers of the Matriz Church, it was relocated to the old municipal building after the earthquakes of 1961.
The Public Clock of Alausí is a symbolic monument that reflects the rich history and architecture of this city, known as the "City of Five Heritage Sites." This clock was acquired in 1903 during the administration of Lieutenant Ermel Fiallo Sanmiguel, who served as the municipal president at the time. It was produced by the German company J.F. WEULE and brought to Alausí via the railway, which had begun operating in the region in 1902.
